Central Bank of Iran Governor Abdolnaser Hemmati left Tehran for Istanbul at the head of a high-level delegation to attend a key summit of central bank governors from Islamic countries.
Beyond the official sessions, Hemmati has scheduled intensive bilateral meetings with officials from member states. The talks will focus on deepening banking and trade cooperation and creating new mechanisms to ease commercial exchanges between Iran and its partners.
Officials expect the visit to help reduce financial restrictions and strengthen Iran’s economic relations with Islamic countries. The Central Bank described the Istanbul meeting as a practical platform for advancing monetary and trade ties, with the delegation aiming to turn the summit into concrete progress on banking channels.
