Seyyed Ehsan Khandouzi, a former Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance and one-time Tehran MP, has been introduced as the new head of the Economic Review Working Group in the Review Department of the Office of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, IRNA reported.
The appointment was marked at a Tuesday ceremony that also served as a farewell to Ali Aqa-Mohammadi, whose 36 years of service were thanked and praised. The event was held by the Leader’s Office, according to its public relations department.
Khandouzi brings a combination of academic and government experience to the role. He is a faculty member at Allameh Tabataba’i University and served as economy minister in the government of the martyred President Raisi. He previously represented the people of Tehran in the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Parliament).
The working group sits within the Leader’s Office review structure, where economic issues and policy questions are assessed. Khandouzi’s selection places a former top economic official at the center of that advisory process, while Aqa-Mohammadi’s departure closes a 36-year chapter of service.
