The 26th Tehran International Industry Exhibition opened at the capital’s permanent fairground on October 28, bringing together 157 Iranian companies—30 knowledge-based—and representatives of German, Japanese, Chinese, Taiwanese and Hong Kong brands. Running until October 31 across some 25,000 square meters, it showcases machinery and production lines, workshop and industrial equipment, tools and engineering services. Organizers say it is intended less as a static display than as a meeting point for manufacturers, suppliers, technology firms and investors.
Chinese companies are attending independently, while Germany, Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong are represented mainly through local agents. That mix, organizers argue, gives Iranian firms a chance to compare products and explore trade partnerships.
At the opening, Kasra Nouri, CEO of Iran International Exhibitions Company, and Seyyed Javad Hosseini-Kia, a parliamentarian and member of the Industries and Mines Committee, joined officials and industrialists.
In a message, Deputy Industry Minister and Trade Promotion Organization head Mohammad Ali Dehghan Dehnavi framed specialized exhibitions as tools for converting Iran’s production capacity into new commercial openings and redrawing the country’s foreign trade map. With non-oil exports a priority, he said, strengthening industrial capacity and using domestic firms’ capabilities is a strategic necessity.
Dehghan Dehnavi described the expo as a platform linking producers, raw-material suppliers, machinery makers, knowledge-based companies and investors. He said effective use of Iran’s industrial capacities requires closer industry-technology ties, better quality, higher productivity and a shift toward higher value-added output. Completing value chains and linking large plants with small and medium-sized enterprises could deepen domestic manufacturing and reduce import dependence where Iran has advantages, he added.
Export growth, he noted, also depends on understanding target markets, adapting products to customer needs, building distribution and after-sales networks and forming lasting partnerships abroad. The exhibition, he said, should help Iranian firms pursue those goals.
